Cost and Savings

Really how much does solar cost?

Well that depends a great deal on where you live and whether you use net metering. Net metering means that during the day solar electricity is used to cover all household needs, while at night time solar electricity can feed back into the grid. If there is not enough solar power generated your home to support your household requirements, your electricity company will provide you with solar power where there are not enough solar panels to meet demand.

Tax Incentives in Florida for going solar

Property Tax Exemption

When you invest in a solar system, your property taxes will not increase. This is thanks to Florida’s Property Tax Exclusion for Residential Renewable Energy Property – so long as it’s installed and connected correctly by an expert company such as ourselves at New Era Solar Energy.

Sales Tax Exemption

Solar energy systems are exempt from sales tax! This is a great benefit for those that want to go green but still have some money left over at the end of every month. Additionally, you won’t pay any more when your purchase our new system thanks to an exemption so there’s 6% less in costs than if we were not eligible too.

Federal Solar Tax Credit

The federal solar tax credit is a great incentive for those who want to go green. The Investment Tax Credit (ITC), which applies only if you buy your system outright and don’t have any income filing requirements, can reduce the cost of installing an electric or gas powered vehicle by up to 26%. With such benefits available in this country there’s no reason not invest now!

  • Years 2020-2022: New residential and commercial solar can deduct 26% of the cost of the system from their taxes.
  • Year 2023: New residential and commercial solar can deduct 22% of the cost of the system from their taxes.
  • Year 2024: No federal credit for new residential solar systems but new commercial solar can deduct 10% of the cost of the system from their taxes.
